At musicGuard, we can provide both protection and security for your musical equipment, not only to help keep your instruments safe, but you as well. Your instruments will be covered against accidental damage, theft, and we can even help with the cost of a replacement should you need one.

Whether you are a professional DJ, a student learning the piano, or a first chair violinist, our musicGuard policies can help protect your instruments should the worst happen. Our insurance has been designed to cover musicians of all disciplines and abilities, and a wide range of instruments from brass, woodwind and strings to drums, guitars, keyboards, DJ equipment and more.

Global travel

If you plan on taking your equipment abroad, our standard musicGuard policy provides 30 days of cover outside of the UK (Public Liability cover is not extended to North America). However, if you are playing at several venues and clocking up air-miles as you jet around the world, you can extend your policy to include up to 365 days of year-long cover. Public Liability insurance

If you are travelling back and forth between venues, you run the risk of something happening to your equipment or to someone else's property. With musicGuard's Public Liability insurance, you can be covered for £1million as standard when you insure any equipment. You can also extend your Public Liability cover to £5million and then, at no extra cost, include up to four fellow band or group members who work or perform alongside you.

Making a claim with musicGuard

We’ve made making a claim so easy

If your music equipment has been stolen or damaged, we know how distressing it can be. That's why we'll do everything possible to deal with your claim promptly. Our easy-to-use claims process is listed below with some helpful information regarding what to do if you need to make a claim.

1. Call the police

If you’ve been the victim of theft or malicious damage, your first port of call should be to inform the police.

2. Contact our claims team

Contact our in-house UK team to make your claim.

3. Make your claim

We'll provide you with your claim reference and talk you through the next steps. Should we need any further information to help process your claim, we can explain what's needed and support you.
