About insured locations
1) I intend to take cover out for my equipment to be kept in a securely locked studio which is not a place of residence and therefore is not always attended. Does this mean that if my stuff is stolen from the studio when there's no-one there, that it is not covered?- Provided there was evidence of a forceful or violent entry and the insured location is added to your policy, then your stuff would be covered. You would need to have put in place any necessary security devices – these depend on the value of equipment/instruments kept at the studio. You can read the security requirements page for more info.
2) I am a part of a church band. We store some equipment at the church in a locked closet and we bring our instruments home each week - to individual houses. Would this situation be covered? Would our instruments be covered at each house?- Yes, this situation would be covered however you would need to observe the security requirements for 'items when away from the insured location' as the church would be the insured location.
The alternative is that you take out individual policies which would cover your items at your individual houses and the church without having to observe the 'away from the insured location' requirements.

3) I want to keep my drums at my church so they can be used for teaching. What happens if they get stolen whilst the building is in use as there would be no forced entry?- You would need to ensure that there is a responsible adult in attendance whenever the church is in use or open to the public. If the items were stolen and there was no forcible and violent entry the drum kit would not be covered.
